Manipulating Inventory Feeds

Manipulating Inventory Feeds

There are several ways to manipulate the data that appears on an inventory feed.

Override Quantity to Report

The Override QTY to Report field is used when you want to report a certain quantity on hand to a customer. Often, this is used to report a QOH of 0 even though we have an item in stock. Inversely, it can be used to make it appear we have more of an item in stock than we do. This is not standard practice.

To do this, go to an item record. Select the Sales and Marketing tab.

Go to the Customer Item Detail record you would like to manipulate.

Once you are on the edit screen, go to the Override Qty to Report field under the Inventory Item Control. Here you will input the QOH you want to report, then submit.

Less than X then 0 Logic

Another way to manipulate an inventory feed is to apply “Less than X then 0 Logic” to an item. We apply this logic when we want to ensure that we do not oversell an item.

As an example, in the past we have applied “Less than X then 0 Logic” to our Seward trunks. We set the threshold, or X, at 10 so that when the item’s QOH falls below 10 on hand, the inventory feed will report 0 to a customer.

To apply this logic, go to the Sales and Marketing tab on the customer record.

Then go to the Less than X then 0 Logic field. Here you will input the threshold you want to set for X, then submit.
