The GLN is a required component for using the Global Data Synchronization Network™ (GDSN®) and various types of e-commerce transactions. This global identification system of GS1® helps assure that
the GLN placed in a barcode or Electronic Product Code (EPC®) is the same information contained in the corresponding electronic documents processed between trading partners.
GS1 U.S. members may have a prefix certificate that shows only a UPC (Universal Product Code) company prefix. The UPC must be converted to a GS1 Company Prefix for use in the GLN. This is accomplished by adding a zero to the front of the UPC Company Prefix.

Manufacturers and suppliers cannot request a NSN. This is usually done once a need for that manufacturers/suppliers item has been identified by a military service, NATO country, federal/civil agency or various Contractor Support Weapons Systems managed by a contractor.
On GSA we only sell an Air Force Trunk. Other Advantus items that may be listed on GSA are from third parties. The contractor offering it for sale would have the NSN number (if there is one). We do not have this information. The NSNs are unique to each product type and not assigned to Advantus. If a customer is asking about the NSN number, direct them to contact the Contractor for this information
