- Upon request of short term disability leave, provide the employee with the Application for Short Term Disability.
- Provide the employee with the Short Term Disability Policy.
- Employee returns the application which includes a start date. Employees are eligible for up to 12 weeks of Short Term Disability.
- Pay the employee 60% of the regular pay amount as sick pay.
- Navigate to the payroll batch for that week.
- Click Insert.
- Click Employee.
- Select the check box next to the employee’s name.
- Click Insert.
- Click Insert -> Column
- Select Other Hours for hourly employees or Other Earnings for salary employees
- Select SIC – SICK from the dropdown menu.
- Click Done.
- Enter the number of hours or earnings being paid for sick time.
- Click Auto Balance.
- Click Done.
